Review: | Although not a massive club (200 capacity) it allows for a friendly, close night out. Drinks prices have stabilised at £2 a bottle or aftershock shot / £1.50 pint of XXXX / £2 pint of stella / £2.50 pint of (full strength) blackthorn. Making for a reasonably cheap drinking night out! Security staff have eased off in the last few months from their heavy handed zero tolerance to behaviour, but any hint of violent behaviour (such as actual moshing) or drugs and you will be ejected. The anti-moshing is due to the relatively small dancefloor, and for the benefit of the majority who just wish to dance. Careful hxc dancing is given discretion due to the relatively disciplined nature of dancing. Lounge area situated inte h corner of the club is a relaxed place to make out, or just chat. Club doesnt usually fill until spoons drinks up at 11, which is where pre-havok drinking often begins.
Music ranges from old school Iron Maiden, to SOAD, to Slayer, Hatebreed, Slipknot, Rage, The Usual Ska, Gothy bleepy stuff, Prodigy, occasional hard house and hip hop track and often find the odd bit of smelly cheese in there too :P A night not to be taken too seriously, but not too silly to be disregarded! |
Other: | Havok started when Cinderellas underwent necessary refurbishment. As a result the mirrored bright and well lit usually towny club is one of the smartest in the area making a change to the relatively dark dingy other clubs. Situated in a proper nighclub means the toilets (usually) have bog roll, and if not you only have to ask the friendly staff. |
