I'm going to hold out and see if I can get a job there again. So far, only Dimmu takes my fancy. Although I found Eluveiitie on the website that handles bookings for Wintersun (I think) shortly before I saw them confirmed on the Bloodstock bill and quite liked them. But it's not enough yet to warrent me paying out for a ticket yet. Looking forward to the Power metal band announcement though

Looks likely that I'll be going as I don't think that I can afford Wacken next year. Hopefully Dimmu will be better than they were at City. Opeth are always fantastic and I HAVE to see At The Gates. Also I've heard that Carcass are in talks to play!

There's talk of many bands playing. I've even heard Iced Earth, Megadeth and Nightwish as bands that are likely to be announced. Personally, I take talks and rumours like that with a pinch of salt until they're actually announced.

Price has now gone up though so if you were hoping to get a cheap ticket, you've kinda missed out

Carcass are pretty likely I think, doin the festival rounds next year so why not BOA. Be good to seem em again, not seen em since '91 - yes I'm old :D
Saw At The Gates a couple times in the past, and they were good.
Can't see Iced Earth playing or at least not being announced as doing so any time soon, not with the trouble they having atm, not that I care, they don't do anything for me
As for the others you mention, could go either way.

My mate is good friends with Vince who runs Bloodstock. Apparently Carcass want the same amount of cash that Archenemy got to play this year. B:O:A are umming and arring over it as they don't seem to think that Carcass are worth it. They're fucking legends for chrissakes!

Meh I'm not too bothered about them. I don't think much to Arch Enemy either so if Carcass's asking price to get out of bed as them, I'd just leave it. However, people seem to like them, so, I dunno. Horses for courses an' all that. And other random relevent cliches and sayings to say people like who they like. I'm still not paying for a ticket yet. They have to try better than that.

PHIL, what the hell, you know someone that helps orgonise this thing, and your not holding there family to ransum to host carcass... WTF... amature.

I mean come on...

Well I have to admit i am seriousally contenplating going to this, i as a rule hate open air events, but At the Gates and if Phill pulls his finger out ;) Carcuss well there is a good chance i might attend this year.

I missed them both when they did the heart work tour (think it was 1994-5ish with a suport band that announced on stage everybody was a cocksuckers, just can not remember there name.) Made me laugh anyhow.

so yes there is a good posiblity i will attend as i doubt i will be goign over to Germany or Norway to see them, but who knows.

tbh at the moment its only dimmu that really take my fancy and tbh ive seen them twice in the last year and i thought both times they were very average(good music but lack luster in performance), i think i will still go but wacken is my priority!

They were huge in the late 80's / early 90's tho I never much cared for em myself.

Also, some band called Cloudscape, no idea who they are, but someone tells me they're similar to Symphony X, if that helps.

Yeah I noticed you'd put Cloudscape in the list so didn't bother mentioning them :P I haven't hear anything by them, but they're supposedly 'a little different' althought the singer 'has a weaker voice for power metal than I might have expected'

Yeah, I got bored of them at Wacken. Found myself staggering back to pass out in my tent after about 4 songs. Although now they've got their old singer back, I've been told that they should be a lot better. From what I've heard "Ripper" wasn't the right bloke for them.

As I Lay Dying ......

Don't personally have a problem with em, but seriously, are there that many emo / scene kids that go to BOA?

what i think you have got at BOA is alot of the people who go to download who like the more extreme/different types of metal, but with that you get a few more emos and such, because they know people, blah blah. Its a sorry stata of affairs though:(
